My computer is getting really hot when it is on

This problem is generally caused by fan failure or dust accumulation on the fans and components of the computer. When dust accumulates it acts like a blanket trapping the heat the computer produces and slowing fans used to cool the system. This causes overheating to occur. Overheating is a serious problem that if not addressed can lead to costly repairs! Overheating is especially bad for laptops, which unlike desktops, have their components crammed tightly together. If your computer is overheating you may have more than just heat to worry about.
